Newtown documentary screening


Newtown chronicles the aftermath of the deadliest mass shooting of school children in American history: a shooting that took the lives of 20 elementary school children and six educators at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Conn., on Dec. 14, 2012.

The free film screening begins at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 3, 2017, at the Englert Theatre in downtown Iowa City. Representatives of the UI Police, the UI Threat Assessment Team, and Iowa City Community School District will take part in a panel discussion of effective violence prevention strategies, starting at 7:30 p.m.
