NACCHO Announces Updates to the NACCHO Toolbox

NACCHO is proud to announce several exciting updates to the NACCHO Toolbox, the free online database of tools and resources for public health practitioners. These changes are designed to assist your search for useful and relevant public health tools.

1) The Toolbox login process has been streamlined.

The entire NACCHO Web site now has one unified login. Using just one user name and password, you can access all areas of the NACCHO Web site, including the NACCHO Toolbox and the Online Publications Store. Due to this update, you may have recently been prompted to change your password when logging into Toolbox.

2) A new tool rating system feature has been added to the Toolbox!

Registered users can now rate tools using a 1 to 5 star scoring system, and add comments to accompany the star rating. This rating system was modeled after Netflix and Blockbuster online, which allow users to write comments and read the ratings provided by others. These ratings and comments will help health departments better determine what tools will benefit their communities.

You are encouraged to take a little time to rate the tools that you use, as your comments and star ratings will enhance the Toolbox for everyone. Please visit the Toolbox homepage for quick, step-by-step instructions on how to start rating tools!

3) The keyword search function in Toolbox operates a little differently.

As you begin typing your keyword, suggested topics and keywords will appear, enhancing your ability to find the tools that are most relevant to you. Please note that the suggested keywords do not encompass every possible keyword combination, so feel free to search for words beyond the suggestions!
