The FWP offers free medical screenings to former U.S. Department of Energy (DOE/AEC) workers from the Ames Laboratory and Iowa Army Ammunition Plant (Line 1 / Division B / Burlington Atomic Energy Commission Plant, BAECP).
If found to have an occupational illness, we assist in the process of filing claims under the Department of Labor Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program (EEOICP).
The BAECP, Ames Lab-FWP is funded through the U.S. Department of Energy and is administered through The University of Iowa College of Public Health.
