Brian C. Lund , Pharm.D., M.S., BCPP
Dr. Lund is Health Research Science Specialist with the Center for Research in the Implementation of Innovative Strategies in Practice (CRIISP) and the VISN 23 Midwest Rural Health Resource Center, both housed at the Iowa City VA Medical Center. Dr. Lund also serves as a consultant to the University of Iowa Center for Education and Research on Therapeutics. His primary research focus is to create strategies to identify individuals at risk for adverse medication outcomes and design novel patient-level and system-level intervention strategies to enhance medication safety and effectiveness. Prior to returning to Iowa in 2009, Dr. Lund served for seven years as the Associate Director of Research at the Laureate Psychiatric Research Center in Tulsa, OK.
Dr. Brian Lund received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Iowa in 1998. Continuing at Iowa, he completed residency and fellowship programs in clinical psychopharmacology, a fellowship in pharmacoepidemiology and health outcomes research, and an MS degree in epidemiology. He is board certified in psychiatric pharmacy. Dr. Lund is a recipient of the Young Investigator Award from the International Congress on Schizophrenia Research and a co-recipient of the George Winokur Clinical Research Award from the American Academy of Clinical Psychiatrists, and the Wiederholt Prize from the American Pharmaceutical Association.
