June 2009- Professionals from Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Kenya, Mongolia, Nepal, Nigeria, Panama, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Rwanda, Thailand, and the United States begin a 12 month training program to earn their Certificate in Emerging Infectious Disease Epidemiology at the University of Iowa. Established in 2003, CEID conducts national and international emerging infectious disease research and training. While research activities are often in international settings, the Center’s home is the Department of Epidemiology at the University of Iowa’s College of Public Health.
