Mission: Promote innovative, theory- and data-driven communication research to address today's public health challenges through participation in interdisciplinary, collaborative, community-based projects and the training of graduate students in the Health Communication sub-tracks in the Department of Community and Behavioral Health and other health communication students in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication and the Department of Communication Studies.

National American Indian and Alaska Native Addiction Technology Transfer Center ( N AI & AN ATTC)
Mission: Disseminate culturally legitimate evidence-based practice in substance abuse and behavioral health. Provide technical assistance, training, and systems change assistance to urban as well as tribal providers across the country. The center’s dissemination efforts address a wide variety of issues and aspects of behavioral health; including substance abuse assessment, early intervention and treatment; culturally specific approaches, mental health, co-occurring disorders and problem gambling, Two Spirit (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, or Transgender) issues, clinical supervision, mentoring and leadership development of Urban Indian as well as tribal treatment providers, and treatment of behavioral health in women and their children.
