Building and Room Access

BUILDING ENTRY, SUITE ENTRY AND KEYED DOORS: Access is set in motion when a supervisor or a department administrator initiates a Building Access Request form. Building entry and door suite access (aka Swipe Access) requires usage of an official University of Iowa photo identification card, the Iowa One Card. Individuals assigned a physical key will be notified by email when the key is ready for pick-up from the IT Suite in N140 CPHB. The key is required to be picked up by the specific person listed on the key request form unless otherwise specified. The individual must present their Iowa One Card to obtain the key(s).

TEMPORARY BUILDING ACCESS:  Individuals who are not CPH faculty, staff or students but need to be in the building outside of regular business hours can get temporary access. It must be requested at least two weeks in advance.  Temporary door access form (required HawkID)

TERMINATING EMPLOYEES: Employees departing from the university have an obligation to return all university keys to their DEO, departmental administrator, or directly to the Information & Academic Technologies Suite drop off location.

STUDENTS: All CPH undergraduate and graduate students are granted electronic access via the student ID card based on their status in MAUI. Please note, students will not lose their access over the summer or winter sessions if they are enrolled for the following fall or spring, respectively. If access is disrupted, please contact your department’s Academic Program Coordinator.
